Holidays in the Snowy Mountains

Very relaxing holiday in the Snowys, but such a weird resort. We stayed at the Novotel Crackenback and we obviously booked the budget package where you have to pay if you run out of loo paper!

Lots of flies, broken fly screens, dead insects on the wall mmmm.

Sydney Festival

So it has been a fun week starting with the Festival party and then off to see Black Watch, National Theatre of Scotland, which I thoroughly recommend as a fast and furious piece of theatre, as I prefer it.

Also caught the Age I am in, Kate Champion's new piece, which was also a great piece of theatre. Definitely worth catching, sadly it finished today, but you can always see it at the Adelaide Festival.

Sydney Festival Launch

Well this week was the Sydney Festival launch.

We started off with the Children First Festival, which was rather hot in Martin Place. Then made our way to the Hyde Park kids concert. Some of the music was good and we loved the banana song, but my 7 year old didn't find it very kid friendly.

However the events later in the evening went off.

Party as usual was fun.

Christmas carols

Opera Australia Christmas carols were fun. My friend Matt directed the production.

This is a hard to make out who's who version of Six White Boomers.

End of the year

It was a fantastic night at the Excelsior for the last Jazzgroove gig of the year. Matt Keegan trio were playing fast and furiously to an enthusiastic audience, who would have been happy to hang out there all night.

Then for a change of pace we headed off to the Opera Australia Christmas carols. Georgie Parker was a real star.

Christmas lead up

Well I am obviously trying to juggle too many things at the same time. I urged my daughter to hurry up so we could get to the concert on time. Arrived at the hall to find it looking a little sparse and when we asked found out that the concert had been the night before. Oh, well these things happen.

Instead we had a little dance around the Nutcracker story in the David Jones windows.

Has definitely started on the silly season

So Christmas celebrations have started this week with the SAMAG Trivia party through to the team Christmas dinner for my department at the zoo.

This is us when we went to Max Brenner for a chocolate indulgence.
